Government agencies are tasked with securing public records, sensitive data and critical infrastructure. This level of security requires encryption over the WAN, consistent reliability and robust durability. With traditional physical access control systems (PACS), software resides on a server that is susceptible to viruses and must be continually updated to comply with operating system updates. Furthermore, the task of configuring multiple servers to manage access control at hundreds or even thousands of buildings requires a full team of IT professionals.
 e-DATA eliminates the headache of forcing legacy access control into an IP world by introducing Java-based access control designed as Web-enabled devices. By building IP-addressable access control units, e-DATA allows organization of any size to manage access control over multiple buildings through one secure user interface. Simply add additional master units inside the VPN, or  communicate at the HTTPs layer over the WAN, and the system expands as your needs do.
And with biometrics, e-DATA takes the same concept of software-embedded devices and applies it to the Fingerprint Key. The Fingerprint Key meets Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and includes an optical sensor that's approved for federal installations (FIPS 201). The Fingerprint Key also comes standard with a PIN pad and an optional embedded iCLASS reader, for a three-in-one credential device, all without the need for additional hardware or software.
